Very peacefull village, at the weekend it was extremely busy, but the morning after there were no rubbish anywhere in site. To me it feels like a very holy place, the church has a place on a wall mounted board where you can ask for prayers for family and friends, it also has a place where you can light candles for anyone. It truly is a remarkable little village.
Almost Perfect
We had a great time staying here in our tent.
The campsite is in a great location located close to the local shops, with an excellent pub across the road.
The camping field is very scenic with a small stream running around the edge.
There is a well equipped shop on site selling all essentials at fair prices...
The toilet block was very clean and well equipped..
So why only 4 stars?
Well, two small niggles really...
1st..
The pitches for tents are not very wide.
We pitched our tent and came back later to find a larger tent erected next to ours... Due to the space they had pitched so close to ours that the guy ropes of both tents crossed over each other...
This isn't very good from a Fire safety perspective, but also severely limited access the side door of our tent due to all the guy ropes which posed a tripping hazard especially at night...
2nd.
The lights in the toilet block are on a motion operated timer, and on two occasions I ended up sitting in a dark cubicle trying to finish off IN THE DARK.. NOT great!
Since LED lights use so little power this seems a bit unnecessary!
But overall GREAT PLACE😜
Our third visit to what I think is the best site in N Yorks.
The pics are not totally relevant, they are two chairs and a clothes horse we found by the bins at another site, so we wombled them.
In Rosedale Abbey a lovely part of the world. Nice and safe for the kids. A bit pricey but we have had our annual catch up with friends here for many years so somewhere else wouldn't be the same
Lovely campsite!
Ping pong table
Football nets
Basket ball and play park!
Great site. Bit pricey for none electric pitch but we will return
Great for kids but a tad expensive, although electric is now included and the WiFi improved, although it did struggle at times when the bank holiday hordes arrived. The paved areas for awnings are unfortunately too large for my Freedom Jetstream so I had to move over and use the grass
Delightful site, lots of different areas, lots of lovely walks. Great super pitches, everywhere keep in fantastic shape. Restrooms and shower blocks have code to prevent just anyone strolling up to use them. Really dog friendly/child friendly. Beautiful site in beautiful surroundings
Camping , site is gorgeous, toilets and showers are heated and cleaned everyday, couldn’t fault it, looking to go again hopefully.
